About Samana International Academy

Samana International Academy provides a nurturing and supportive community where students from different backgrounds can come together to learn, grow, and thrive!

Class Offerings:  The school offers small class sizes in grades 4K-7th grades. The school uses multi-age classrooms; 4K-5K, 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th, 5th-7th.

Class Size:  Students receive personalized attention in a welcoming environment that fosters a sense of belonging, encouraging students to reach their full potential! Each class will have a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio.

Curriculum:  The school uses award-winning, academically-sound, United States curriculum.

  • English Language Arts: We use a traditional, award-winning, academically-sound, college preparatory curriculum, based on United States Curriculum Frameworks. Through wholesome literature, the curriculum emphasizes gratitude, honesty, kindness, and nature. Courses in younger grades focus heavily on phonics and reading, producing excellent readers. Level 3 - 6 teaches reading skills, spelling, writing, grammar, punctuation, usage, literature, vocabulary.

  • Mathematics: We employ excellent curricula that exceed US or US-based state standards for each level.

  • Nature Studies: We incorporate plenty of time spent outdoors exploring and learning where nature lays the foundation for lessons.

  • Thematic Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Music Units:  Students fully engage in our thematic STEAM enrichment classes. Past units have included The Titanic, Zoology, Forensic Science, Natural Medicine, Beekeeping, Pirates of the Caribbean and more! These units incorporate project-based learning and occasionally field trips. Upper elementary students are given online learning and research extensions integrate them into a global society.

  • Our curriculum is customizable for families that want the flexibility of traveling but are concerned about children missing lessons; weekly lesson plans are sent directly to the parent so that the student can follow along with classmates while away!

  • Placement tests are given in English Language Arts and Mathematics to determine the perfect placement for students.

  • The courses are thorough and advanced leaving no gaps.

  • Our English Language Arts and math curriculum spirals back to previously learned information so that students have multiple opportunities to master topics.

  • We incorporate career education and entrepreneur opportunities for each age level and offer potential sponsorships for older students who want to own and operate businesses in their future.

  • We incorporate and encourage foreign language learning for all students.
